I really want granite but I am afraid of staining? How often do I need to seal it and how do I maintain it?

All stones have different absorbency rates. There are some granites with an absorbency rate so low it doesn't need to be sealed. When selecting your stone, our office will advise you of this in more detail. For those that need sealer, annual application should be enough if you are using a quality sealer. Daily cleaning can be done with dishwashing detergent and warm water. You can buy specialty cleaners that may add extra stain protection or surface enhancer, but it is not necessary.

Granite or Quartz? How do I know which is right for me?

Granite is a wonderful product with a lot of natural variation. However, this doesn't always appeal to everyone. Under normal conditions, both granite and quartz products are maintained in a similar manner. Both scratch and heat resistant, quartz offers the color consistency that some homeowners desire. There are granites available with the same pattern and color consistency, although you will find a broader selection with a quartz surface. We offer a wide range of quality  granite and  quartz options.
I've been seeing a lot of marble kitchen countertops on design shows. Are they okay to use in kitchens?

Unfortunately, the design shows are utilizing the countertops for just that − the design. They are not thinking about the functionality and longevity of the materials. Marble, a very soft and porous surface, cannot handle the daily use a kitchen receives. Scratches and staining would always be a concern. Over time, those hairline scratches will reflect a large dull area that will have to be refinished. However some people do enjoy the aged/worn look marble can provide. Careful consideration will help you decide which is right for you. More popular choice is a white quartz with marble veining to give the look of marble but with excellent durability.
There are so many choices when choosing a fabricator. How does this compare to a retail store and do you price match your competitors?

By coming directly to a fabricator, you are eliminating the middleman that retail stores use − thus saving you money. At Bedrock Marble & Granite, we offer competitive pricing without sacrificing good customer service. From design to installation, we will devote the necessary time needed to make sure you get the countertops you will be happy with. We will consider competitor pricing; however, we can't always guarantee that we can match it. As a premier  remodeler, we utilize some of the most advanced production machinery to ensure you are getting a quality product that will leave a lasting impression.

Q & A
How long can I expect a new countertop project to take?

Normally, once we have completed templates, your new countertops will be installed within 7-10 business days. This schedule can vary, but we work hard to accommodate your schedule. An average installation can last one day, around 5-7 hours long.
What does my square-foot cost include?

You will find some competitors that advertise extremely low prices. However, these are usually introductory pricing. We never have hidden cost, and our pricing includes templating, fabricating, installing with a standard edge profile (6 different options). Rounded corners are also complimentary. You will find that our square-foot price may vary from a competitor but our total price and what's all included is most important.
I 'm not ready for new countertops yet, but I would like to establish a budget. How can I get a price?

You can schedule to have measurements done FREE of charge. Or for faster service, fax or email your cabinet sizes and layout for immediate pricing. Even though final decisions such as colors and sinks may not be decided, this is enough to get a workable budget established. For layout/cabinet drawing examples, please click here. You can provide these with simple hand drawings. Please remember to note areas such as sinks, cooktop and/or bartop areas.
